The original National Consortium of Interpreter Education Centers (NCIEC: 2005-2010 CFDA#84.160A&B) was formed and funded to address the national shortage of interpreters for Deaf, Deafblind, and hard‐of-hearing individuals. The NCIEC was comprised of five Regional Centers and TIEM’s National Center. Members of these Centers, along with an extensive partner network, worked collaboratively on cross‐center work teams on a variety of initiatives.

The TIEM Center is committed to sustaining and expanding the work we began when leading the National Consortium initiative.  We are developing an annotated database of practices and resources that will allow for the rating of items based on the quality and quantity of evidence that supports their effectiveness, as well as their usefulness and practicality for interpreting educators and mentors. We welcome partners in this work, as well as additional funding.
